apè is a Filipinx-Canadian artist working in sound, music and media arts. Over the past decade, she has toured extensively with her bands Hooded Fang and Phèdre, playing bass, synths, and samplers across North America, Europe, and Asia.
Since 2018, her solo sound art practice has explored immersive, site-specific works and hidden electromagnetic frequencies, often confronting socio-political systems through sonic exploration—merging movement, resistance, and deep listening.
apè is currently the Artistic Director of Venus Fest, a femme/trans/gender-expansive forward, experimental music and art non-profit.
