Formed in 2013 by vocalist/producer Bonnie Baxter alongside co-producer Nicos Kennedy and drummer Hisham Bharoocha (aka Soft Circle), Kill Alters is an unclassifiable, disorientating and carnivalesque explosion of noise, psychedelia and grotesque ecstasy. Baxter's breathless vocals curl hypnotically around machine-gun percussion and overdriven sonic throbs; there's metal, hardcore, brutalist techno and ritualistic loops, but it's never completely overwhelming. The band's last two albums were released on Chicago's cult Hausu Mountain imprint, and juxtapose tape-dubbed childhood memories with urgent post-punk rasps, jerky beats and surreal, technicolor soundscapes.
