Silla is an acclaimed Inuit throat-singing duo known for fusing traditional songs with contemporary sounds. Made up of Charlotte Qamaniq (Iglulik, Nunavut) and Cynthia Pitsiulak (Kimmirut, Nunavut), the pair has been captivating audiences with their raw, hypnotic performances since 2005.

Their name, Silla—from the Inuktitut word Sila, referring to weather, the spirit of the land, cunning and intellect—reflects the deep cultural roots and resilience of katajjaq (Inuit throat singing), a practice that has endured despite efforts to silence it during Arctic colonization.

Silla has earned two JUNO Award nominations for their work as Silla and Rise, along with two Summer Solstice Indigenous Music Awards. Their music celebrates Inuit excellence—rooted in tradition, yet constantly evolving.

In 2025, Silla returns with a double album concept: Inua features traditional throat songs sung for generations, while Sila is Boss reimagines those same songs through a modern lens—blending electronic, hard rock, spoken word, and post industrial influences into a contemporary reinterpretation of ancient sound.
