On Blurring Time (2025), Bells Larsen collapses time into patient ceremonies that explore simply “being” as a radical act in and of itself. The album blends lo-fi ’90s indie with searing folk ballads, tracing Larsen’s transition and self-actualization. For this project, Larsen recorded his “high” voice and instrumentation in 2022, then returned to record his post-testosterone "low voice" in 2023 to sing harmonies and octaves with his past self. Unlike previous work where vocals sat back, Blurring Time places both voices front and center, creating a multilingual act of surrender and change.
Larsen’s debut Good Grief (2022), written during a Banff residency, mourned the death of first love as a collective empathy exercise. Featured in Billboard, Stereogum, Paste, The Line of Best Fit, Under the Radar, and The CBC, he’s shared stages with Buck Meek, Land of Talk, and Martha Wainwright. Where Good Grief reached outward in loss, Blurring Time turns inward toward becoming.
