Melissa Vincent is a music journalist and doctoral candidate in Media and Communications at the London School of Economics. She is a frequent music correspondent for CBC’s The National, a member of the Toronto Music Advisory Committee, and the former Polaris Music Prize jury foreperson. She was a researcher on the Peabody-winning documentary Any Other Way: The Jackie Shane Story and was nominated for a Digital Publishing Award for Best Science and Technology Storytelling for her essay, "Ethical AI Has Not Solved Tech's Problem with Racism". She has led editorial strategy for projects with Universal Music Canada, Netflix, YouTube Originals, and Banger Films. Her work has appeared in The Globe and Mail, Elle Canada, Pitchfork, Billboard, and The Fader.
