Discovering Bjork, M.I.A, Lana Del Rey, Britney Spears and hype-rappers in high school led Prado Monroe to the melodic trap sonics of Chief Keef, Azealia Banks and Kanye West - gifted her first guitar, the young singer quickly started singing on beats then self-producing on Soundcloud under the moniker of Alienkanye at a prolific pace. The Afro-Metis singer-songwriter began performing locally in Vancouver, BC pioneering community through her DIY studio THOTFUL and raw authenticity. Her first album covers and music was recorded at THOTFUL with creative direction from her sister and studio co-founder, Zuleyyma. The studio is located in Vancouver with a mission to create incubator programs for disadvantaged minorities and uplift promising LGBTQ2S+ and BIPOC artists and music professionals in Canada. Currently working on her latest project, PM2 - Prado Monroe is gearing up for the release of her next single in April of 2025. After she shook the Canadian music industry circuit with her first single “Stephen” and Stella McCartney’s Spring Paris Fashion Week runway starter track “Elastic” with ZDBT and SMP. More music coming in 2025.

Pique is a forward-thinking, artist-driven quarterly event series featuring eclectic musical, visual and multimedia artists, produced by Debaser. Pique takes place four times per year at the Arts Court (67 Nicholas St, Ottawa). 

2025 Pique dates are March 7-8, June 7, September 27 and December 13.
